Stoke-on-Trent’s Phil Taylor moved to third place in the darts Premier League after a win and draw in the latest round of matches.

But fellow Potteries star Adrian Lewis had his playoff hopes ended after only drawing 6-6 with Peter Wright.

“The Power” Taylor took three from a possible four points with a thrilling 6-6 draw against Raymond Van Barneveld, and a comfortable 7-2 victory over Dave Chisnall.

Taylor, speaking to the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC), said: “I wanted four points coming here but I would have taken three all day long, and I’m in there in the top four with a chance of qualifying.

“There’s five players who can qualify for the four places and it’s a race for the ticker tape now, so the pressure’s on and everybody’s going to push forward.”

But “Jackpot” Lewis won’t be one of those players, after only managing a draw with Wright.

Lewis was 6-4 ahead  but was unable to close out victory, missing one dart to take a 7-4 victory.

After, Lewis said on Twitter: “Well if @snakebitewright can’t beat me when I’m playing poor god help him when I’m playing well.”

After week 13, only the top four players competing in the Betway Premier League can qualify for the playoffs in Wembley later this month.

Taylor is third with 17 points, but breathing down his neck is Peter Wright and Gary Anderson both with 16 points.

Lewis now lies 6th with 11 points, and with only two weeks of league games to go can no longer make the playoffs.
